VDS Student Club seeks representatives from each UK and Irish veterinary school

The Veterinary Defence Society’s (VDS) Student Club is excited to announce a brand-new volunteering opportunity for a second or third-year vet student at each of the UK and Irish veterinary schools.

The VDS Student Club is a free service offered to all current UK and Irish veterinary students, providing access to lots of useful veterinary information via a monthly eNewsletter, to help them in their student journey and in their future veterinary career.

The VDS Student Club Representative will be asked to promote the VDS Student Club to students at their own Vet School,  signposting students to events organised by the VDS Student Club and representing the VDS Student Club at University’s Freshers’ and Careers’ Fairs.

VDS Membership Liaison Adviser Emma Callaghan MRCVS, said, “We’re looking for volunteers who are good with people, enjoy socialising with their vet student peers, and are interested in a  role with the VDS, one of the oldest and largest membership organisations for vets in the UK and Ireland.

“Volunteers will receive ongoing training and will also become part of a network of the VDS Student Club representatives from the other UK and Irish Vet Schools. This is an exciting opportunity to gain organisational skills  and to communicate and network with student peers. If you’re interested, we’d love to hear from you!”

Each VDS Student Club Representative will receive a welcome gift to thank them in supporting the VDS Student Club’s efforts to support students in their vet school journey.

Interested applicants can download an application form from or contact the VDS by emailing vdsstudentclub@thevds.co.uk, by 20th November 2020.
