Purina® PRO PLAN®’s 2026 Calming Care Symposium will centre on the topic: ‘The Gut-Brain Axis in Practice’.  Taking place on 13th March 2026 in Girona, Spain or online from 9 am to 4 pm CET / 8am to 3 pm GMT, this free event will provide an in-depth explanation of the stress-related behaviours of dogs through the lenses of case studies, talks and discussions from industry experts. All veterinary professionals including veterinary surgeons, vet techs, RVNs, behaviourists and nutritionists can register here: https://www.vet-center.eu/pro-plan-calming-care-symposium.

Stress-related behaviours in dogs are a key consideration in canine welfare. This symposium will give attendees a clear and deep understanding when it comes to recognising and managing stress in dogs. Topics will include the science behind the gut-brain axis, the pet-human relationship and how probiotics can influence canine behaviour.

The speaker line-up consists of ten exceptional experts from around the world, including Dr. Clara Palestrini, Professor at the University of Milan’s Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, Dr. Sarah Heath, European Veterinary Specialist in Behavioural Medicine, and Dr Marta Amat Grau and Dr Xavier Manteca Vilanova of the University of Barcelona, both diplomates of the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine.

Beyond clinical talks, the symposium will feature a dynamic round-table discussion where attendees will be encouraged to share their opinions and get involved in conversations surrounding the topics of the day. The day also includes a session focused on evidence-based insights and real-life case reports, and opportunities for networking with like-minded professionals.

Veterinary professionals are invited to register here for free: https://www.vet-center.eu/pro-plan-calming-care-symposium. Simultaneous translations will be available in French, Spanish, German, Italian and Portuguese alongside English.
