BVNA launches three new awards

BVNA are excited to announce the launch of three new awards, and the winners will be announced during the virtual awards evening at the BVNA ‘This Is Us’ online event.

The three new awards are:

St Francis Award

This award is for a nurse that has gone above and beyond for their team, their patients, or for the profession over the past 12 months.

Help in the Community Award

This award is for nurses who have gone above and beyond to help animal owners and their clinical teams during the Covid-19 pandemic.

VNJ Writer of the Year

This award is for articles that have encouraged positive change, discussions or improved clinical practice.

The event will take place from 9th – 11th October, with the awards evening starting at 6.30pm on Saturday 10th October, and will be streamed live to the BVNA Facebook page as well as to event delegates via Zoom.

The keynote speaker for the awards evening will be Dr Jane Goodall.

The keynote speaker for the BVNA virtual awards evening will be Dr Jane Goodall DBE.
Dr Jane Goodall DBE is an ethologist and environmentalist, founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and a United Nationals Messenger of Peace.

Jo Hinde, BVNA president says, “I am thrilled to be hosting this year’s awards ceremony, and I urge everyone to join me by nominating and watching the ceremony live. We have chosen three brand new award categories that really highlight individuals who are truly inspirational. I am absolutely delighted that Dr Jane Goodall DBE will be our guest speaker for the evening. She is the epitome of inspiration, compassion, and kindness – all of which are values that veterinary nurses hold dear. This really is an event not to be missed!”
