Fun in the sun at the Virbac sponsored Great British Dog Walk at Ickworth Park

The Suffolk leg of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People’s Great British Dog Walk sponsored by Virbac, took place at Ickworth Park near Bury St Edmunds on Saturday 5th May.

Bathed in beautiful spring sunshine, the popular venue welcomed 447 walkers and 280 dogs, and the Virbac companion animal team turned out in force to support the walk. With two options to walk, 8K and 3K, the team and their dogs elected the 3k trail through the picturesque parkland.

The team was warmly welcomed by the organisers of the Ickworth Park walk. ‘It was wonderful to see so many walkers and such well-behaved dogs!’ said Andrew Connolly, Head of Marketing for Companion Animals at Virbac. ‘The Great British Dog walk is a fantastic way for people to enjoy their dogs and raise money for an excellent cause, which Virbac are proud to be associated with; we really enjoyed the walk’.

Gill Yeates, National Fundraising Manager at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, said: “We are delighted that so many people attended the Great British Dog Walk at Ickworth and that the lovely weather held out for us.  We are extremely grateful for Virbac’s kind support of the Great British Dog Walk and to all those who put on their walking shoes for a good cause – this will ultimately help us to train more clever dogs to change the lives of deaf people.”

The Great British Dog Walks take place at venues across the country. More details of walks in your area can be found on the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People website www.hearingdogs.org.uk/greatbritishdogwalk
