When: Thursday 2nd March 2017
Where: The Institution of Mechanical Engineers, London SW1H 9JJ
Only a handful of tickets remain available for this year’s National Equine Forum given an
unprecedented rush of early bookings. It reflects the growing popularity and importance to the
industry of this highly informative, non-‐partisan event.
This year Government officials, vets and equestrian industry leaders will share their knowledge and
drive debate on some of today’s most pertinent equestrian matters. In the lively topical slots,
just confirmed, the impact of Business Rates will be assessed, the impact of the growing threats of
strangles and Equine Herpes Virus will be discussed and the replacement to the Horserace Betting
Levy examined. Also hot off the press the Thoroughbred Health Network will be formally launched as
a UK-‐wide initiative. In addition the programme includes Brexit’s potential impact on the horse
industry, the central equine database, tack, bits and welfare, and Changing Lives through Horses.
The winner of the coveted Sir Colin Spedding Award will be announced at the event from a shortlist
of three nominees: fire and rescue expert Jim Green, side-‐saddle authority
Maureen James and equine veterinary nurse Bonny Millar.
