Roll up your sleeves for Cats Protection’s cupcake competition!

Cat-lovers and baking enthusiasts are being asked to show off their creative talents by taking part in Cats Protection’s cupcake competition.

The UK’s largest cat charity launched the search for the perfect feline-themed cupcake earlier this year, and amateur bakers still have time to enter.

Visitors to the Cake & Bake Show at London’s Earls Court from 3-5 October will be able to get some last-minute inspiration at Cats Protection’s stand at stand number 76.

There will be feline-themed food and kitchen items available to buy at the stand and owners can also pick up leaflets and advice on how to keep their cats in tip-top condition.

Emma Osborne, Cats Protection’s Events Manager, said: “If you love cats and love baking, then our cupcake competition is for you. Cats are great models and have inspired works of art for centuries, so we can’t wait to see how creative the entrants will be with their designs.

“Anyone visiting the Cake & Bake Show who is stuck for design ideas can pop along to our stand and find plenty of cat-related inspiration.”

To enter, amateur bakers need to send an entry form detailing their recipe, method and three photos to the charity by 17 October.

To request an entry form, along with terms and conditions for the cupcake competition, please contact Cats Protection’s Helpline on 03000 12 12 12 or email helpline@cats.org.uk

Selected finalists will be invited to attend the BBC Good Food Show from 14-16 November at London Olympia where the competition will be judged.

Emma added: “Of course the proof is in the pudding so we’re really looking forward to seeing the final cupcakes – and of course the all-important taste tests.”

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity and helps over 194,000 cats each year through its national network of over 250 volunteer-run branches and 31 adoption centres.
