UK’s Largest Veterinary Management Congress set to return in 2015

Flushed with success, after a successful 2014 congress in January, VPMA and SPVS are announcing details of next year’s congress already. VPMA and SPVS will be returning to Celtic Manor Resort for their 2015 Congress which will be held on 23rd and 24th January. This follows the success of the 2014 event attended by over 400 vets and managers and 62 sponsors and exhibitors. This is now the largest veterinary Management Congress in the UK and the very positive feedback from all who attended this year makes it likely to sell out early for 2015.
The lecture programme will include a dedicated equine management stream and a further stream focusing on mental health and work related stress which proved so successful this year. In addition, there will be a focus on ‘client care’ with lectures concentrating on every step in the client journey. shutterstock_114641800vetreceptionist
SPVS President, Colin Thomson is particularly keen that Congress should champion individuals in practice: ‘Working as a vet, a manager, nurse or receptionist in practice can be very rewarding. But at times it can also be very stressful. I’d like Congress to help equip managers and owners with the skills and tools to help them make life that little bit better for those they are responsible for.’
Helen Sanderson, who will be VPMA President for a second year, would like to build on the success of the equine stream she launched last year,‘Equine practices face very distinctive management problems and I wasn’t convinced we were doing as much as we could to address these. I was bowled over by the response to our equine stream at this year’s event and look forward to welcoming even more equine vets and managers in 2015.’
