Submissions invited for 2014 Equine Colic Research Symposium

Scientists and clinicians are invited to submit abstracts of recent colic research work for possible presentation at BEVA’s 11th Equine Colic Research Symposium, to be held on July 7-10, 2014 in Dublin, Ireland.

The Equine Colic Symposium has become an important triennial meeting for equine vets and researchers over the past 30 years. It provides a unique opportunity for international equine gastroenterology experts to share the latest research and scientific advances on the treatment and prevention of colic. Having organised the meeting in 2002 and 2008, BEVA is proud to be hosting it once again.

The 2014 meeting in Dublin, which runs over 2.5 days, will follow a similar format to previous symposia, with 15 minute oral presentations followed by five minutes for questions and discussion. Posters will be available for delegates to view throughout each day and delegates will have opportunities to review and discuss work with poster presenters.

Abstracts on all aspects of equine gastroenterology, including basic science research and reports of clinical cases or novel approaches to treatment, will be considered. Submissions will be reviewed by the Colic Research Symposium Committee, for possible inclusion in the programme as oral presentations or posters. Abstracts will be published as proceedings for the meeting. The submission of full manuscripts is also invited, for inclusion in a Colic Supplement that will be published by Biomed Central to coincide with the meeting. Submissions for the supplement will be subject to the usual peer review process.
