New BEVA President appointed

Paul Jepson has been appointed as new President of the British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA) for 2013/14. He takes over the role from Keith Chandler at the end of BEVA Congress 11-14 September 2013.  Andrew Harrison, a partner at Three Counties Equine Clinic becomes President Elect and Mark Bowen becomes Junior Vice President.

Brigadier Jepson graduated from Liverpool University and worked in mixed practice for five years before joining the Royal Army Veterinary Corps. He was Chief Executive of the Home of Rest for Horses (now the Horse Trust), from 1997 to 2010, where he was both hands-on equine vet as well as guardian of the Trust’s programme of funding cutting edge scientific research and clinical scholarships. He is a member of a government and equine industry Core Group on exotic diseases, chairman of the committee responsible for delivery of the GB Equine Health and Welfare Strategy, member of the National Equine Forum committee and a past Master of the Worshipful Company of Farriers. He works as a veterinary advisor from his home in the New Forest.
