VPMA Congress Open for Bookings

Booking lines are now open for the 2011 Veterinary Practice Management Association Congress (VPMA www.vpma.co.uk). The congress will take place in Kenilworth in Warwickshire on 27th– 29th January 2011 at Chesford Grange Hotel, a four star manor house hotel with 17 acres of grounds.

The VPMA promise an exciting line up of events. Following an AGM and pre-congress dinner on Thursday 27th, the congress opens with three streams, which take place on Friday and Saturday. Stream 1 is for new starters who are thinking about going into partnership or opening a practice for the first time; Stream 2 is for experienced practice managers and principals who need to look ahead to marketplace trends and to stimulate new thinking; Stream 3 combines personal development on Friday and team development on Saturday delivered by a business and life coach. Delegates can move between streams at their leisure or follow the stream that best meets their needs. The speakers include leading consultants, industry experts and vets who have built up their own practices from scratch.

As well as a commercial exhibition offering access to key providers of services and products, there will be a Friday night social programme to look forward to with a sparkling reception, banquet dinner with entertainment and dancing and a structured networking session.

Rebekka Fiorani, VPMA President commented, “I think we all have unfulfilled aspirations – whether we are at the start of our career, about to take the momentous leap towards practice ownership or casting around looking for a much better way of doing things. If that strikes a cord, then this is the congress for you! Come along and network with practice managers and colleagues who offer a wealth of experience. We want delegates to leave congress with concrete action plans, full of energy and enthusiasm to tackle whatever challenge they come across in their professional life. I am positive our great line up of speakers and a vibrant congress atmosphere will make that possible.”

Delegates can register or request further information about the congress by calling 01727 859259 or by sending an email to events@mojoconsultancy.com. Non-members are welcome.

Note to Editors

The Veterinary Practice Management Association (VPMA) is the professional association for veterinary practice managers, primarily in the UK, but with an expanding overseas membership. The Association is the examining board and awarding body for the Certificate in Veterinary Practice Management (CVPM) – aimed at practice managers –  and the Veterinary Practice Administration Certificate (VPAC) – aimed at administrative assistants.

In addition to holding an annual conference, the VPMA also organises practice management seminars and regional management groups. The Association journal, Veterinary Management for Today, is published quarterly and contains information and updates on all aspects of practice management. The VPMA aims to provide a forum to encourage communication between individuals involved in the management of veterinary practice and to promote excellence in all aspects of veterinary practice management.

Note for International Editors

The town of Kenilworth is ideally situated for visitors who wish to combine their CPD (continuing professional development) with a spot of tourism. Situated near Stratford Upon Avon, the home of William Shakespeare, and Royal Lemington Spa which is famed for its Regency architecture, Kenilworth and nearby Warwick are of great historic interest, with two of the most magnificent castles from English history situated in the towns. Kenilworth is a 1.5 hour drive from London or a 30 minutes drive from Birmingham International Airport.
