Invicta launches pioneering handheld shockwave therapy innovation in UK

Invicta Animal Health has launched the new CS-Pro Vet in the UK, the world’s first handheld, battery-powered focused Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) device. The lightweight device delivers powerful, precise and consistent shock waves while remaining quiet and easily portable, with applications in both equine and companion animal practice.

Focused ESWT is a non-invasive therapy that uses high-energy pressure waves targeted at a specific area of tissue to stimulate the body’s own healing response. In veterinary medicine, ESWT is used in the management of a range of musculoskeletal conditions, including chronic tendon and ligament injuries, osteoarthritis and some bone and lumbosacral conditions, as well as acute and chronic wound healing.

The CS-Pro Vet offers five focal depths, from 2mm to 30mm, with energy flux density (EFD) settings from 0.02 to 0.22mJ/mm² and therapeutic volumes of more than 1,000mm³. This allows focused shock waves to be generated across a wide range of depths and energy settings. A carefully optimised focal area and consistent shock waves make the experience more comfortable for the patient, which can negate the need for sedation, saving time and reducing the cost to the owner.

The smallest focused ESWT device available, the CS-Pro Vet weighs only 400g. In its case with all accessories, it weighs in at under 4kg. It comes with two swappable lithium-ion batteries and a charger and provides up to 100,000 shocks per battery charge.
