VET NATALIE’S METEORIC RISE TO CLINICAL DIRECTOR
A childhood dream has turned into an inspiring career for the new lead clinical director at a leading Glasgow vets.
Natalie Davis has been promoted to the key role at Linnaeus-owned Pets’n’Vets, which has seven practices in and around the Glasgow area.
Natalie, who graduated in 2015 and is now responsible for the overall running of the practice, said: “I have always loved animals and knew I wanted to be a vet from a very young age.
“I was ecstatic when I was accepted into the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine and even happier when I graduated there in 2015.
“One of my early interviews for my first job was at Pets’n’Vets and straightaway I knew this was a practice where I would love to work.
“It was a bustling and progressive small animal practice which offered great support and with lots of experienced vets around, I was quickly able to develop my knowledge and skill set.
“Then, after honing my own clinical skills, I became a mentor myself, supporting our new graduate programme.
“It was very rewarding to play a part in the development of the new generation of vets joining the practice and seeing them flourish and develop through their career.”
Natalie’s own career was flourishing and developing, too. She took on the lead vet position which, she says, brought a host of new responsibilities and demands.
Natalie added: “It was a challenging role but I thoroughly enjoyed the variety of work and learning opportunities the position offered.
“Now, I’ve been appointed lead clinical director and it’s been another steep learning curve but so enjoyable and exciting. It is truly inspiring to be part of such a brilliant practice and team.
“My responsibility now is the overall running of the practice and my main goal is to make Pets’n’Vets the best practice it can be and provide the best services for our clients and patients.
“I’ll be identifying areas for improvement and plans for development as well as continuing to drive the highest standards of clinical care across all our practices.”
