The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies Equine Unit are staying at the forefront of technology by investing in the Cuattro Slate 3 Wireless Digital Radiography system.

The Slate 3 Wireless DR represents the next generation of Equine DR, offering significant improvements over 1st generation.

The Vets at the Equine Unit are enjoying improved workflows as a result of instant images, the removal of wires and easy to navigate software.

Eugenio Cillan-Garcia LV MRCVS, Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Science commented,

““The system makes a massive difference on the job because you can X-ray quickly and get your X-rays straight away. You can compare and review with the previous images.”

“Another of the main differences is that it’s wireless, so you don’t have cables around. This is especially useful when you’re doing young or difficult horses. It’s quite simple to acquire images and remove the plate…the Cuattro makes life easier”

Paula Finnie DCR(R) BSc commented,

“It’s an improvement on CR, as when you’re out in the field, you have an instant image. You know there and then whether it’s of diagnostic quality rather than having to come back into the department to process them. It’s made the workload flow much easier. The benefits from being wireless is that you’re not having to continually look to see where the wires are and if the horse is standing near them.”

“The image quality is of very good standard and it has more flexibility to change and alter the contrast on the screen”.

The capabilities of the Slate 3 Wireless DR system will allow Edinburgh University Equine Unit to offer a higher level of patient care due to the improvements in workflow and speed of image processing.

In-stable surgeries and diagnosis can be made faster and easier with the Slate 3 Wireless DR.
