English Springer Spaniel: most popular dog among British cheaters

A new study from Victoria Milan – a dating website for attached and married people looking to cheat – reveals the type of dog British  cheats are most likely to own.

Married people who have an ‘English springer spaniel’ are the most adulterous of the UK. According to the survey conducted among 5,652 British members 13.8% of dog owners who are unfaithful to their partner have an ‘English springer spaniel’, followed by ‘German shepherd’ (11.2%) and of ‘Staffordshire Bull Terrier’ (10.8%). In the two last positions with only 0.8% and 0.6% we find we find ‘Dalmatians’ and ‘Chihuahuas’ as the less popular dogs among cheaters.

Ironically, it seems the most loyal of pets is not a favourite of cheaters, with only 23% of survey respondents owning a dog.

Founder and CEO of Victoria Milan, Sigurd Vedal, said the results were both interesting and revealing.

“A dog is known as the most loyal of creatures – and the study shows – not really a favourite of cheaters.  We’d like to conduct further research into this as the results are quite telling – is the lack of pets an attempt to shy away from commitment?  Or is there a preferred animal cheaters like to keep as a pet?” he said.
